We are seeking a Performance Adviser to join our Sector Performance team. This opportunity is for a 12-month fixed-term or secondment position, to be part of an energetic team focused on advising Ministers and monitoring the performance of our Crown-funded cultural agencies.
Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the role You will work closely with Ministers and key stakeholders in entities on the performance of New Zealand's cultural sector to support it in meeting legislative obligations. This role is part of a team of specialist performance advisers responsible for monitoring the performance of 10 Crown entities and five non-governmental organisations. The team advises on Board appointments, strategic direction, financial and organisational capability, investment business cases and budget proposals. Entities Manatū Taonga advises on include Te Papa, Sport New Zealand, New Zealand Music Commission, and Creative New Zealand.
Mōu anō | About youYou provide knowledge, skills and experience that contributes to the development of performance advice. You will be good at building relationships and work across entities to understand their strategic direction and use these relationships and knowledge to respond to Ministerial deliverables and performance issues.

To be successful in this role you will have:
  • Good relationship and process management skills
  • An understanding of government accountability and processes
  • An ability to develop and manage effective working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Clear communication skills, able to write and present coherently
  • An ability to apply knowledge of te reo, tikanga and Te Tiriti o Waitangi, or have the willingness and commitment to learn.
