Job Description
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Ruminant Business Unit Director (BUD) – Ireland. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this role has full responsibility for the commercial operations within the Ruminant Business Unit. This role will be based at our Headquarters in Red Oak North, Leopardstown.
Approximately 30% - 40% travel in-country with overseas travel as required.
Bring energy, knowledge, innovation to carry out the following:
- Designing the BU strategy in collaboration with other internal stakeholders and contributes to the multi-species strategy.
- Accountable for the range of Ruminant Biopharmaceutical products, Monitoring Technology, Milking Technology, Identification and Trade products in Ireland.
- Accountable for the performance (Sales volume, market share and profit) of the Business Unit P&L and collaborates closely with the Finance Business Partner.
- Executes commercial plans and strategies including financial budgets across the Ruminant product range. Maximises performance (Sales volume, market share and profit) within broad guidelines established by Animal Health Divisional, Regional VP and the General Manager.
- Partners with Global and Regional species leadership in the company, to ensure effective and timely product marketing campaigns for the Ruminants species within the market.
- Builds and leads effective teams of marketing and sales professionals, exploiting opportunities for product sales, technical support and problem resolution.
- Influences Regional level management in creating and delivering successful business plans and product strategies for Ruminant products. Builds effective and mutually-beneficial relationships with key customers.
- Participates in the creation of and leads the implementation of species-specific business plans. Make rapid and disciplined operational decisions impacting on the species business within the scope of the business plan.
- Responsible for rapid operational problem resolution for the BU. The BUD is the focal point for issues related to product supply, pricing and problem resolution.
- Selects, manages and develops the Ruminant sales, marketing and technical managers
What skills you will need:
In order to excel in this role, you will more than likely have:
- Degree in Science or business (or equivalent qualification).
- Minimum 3 years in senior line leadership position with substantial experience of working in a highly-matrixed network and in a role with significant P&L remit.
- Commercial experience in the Irish market in industries such as: Pharmaceutical, Animal Health or Animal Nutrition. International experience/exposure may be beneficial for future career development.
- Demonstrated ability to influence stake holders and manage a large team through people leaders
- Proven strategic thinking and problem solving skills
