POSITION OVERVIEW
BCW Traffic Management Ltd. is a leading traffic control company in BC looking for a Site Supervisor who will work closely with ownership and management team in the pursuit of successful execution of projects and growth opportunities. As a key member of the management team, the Supervisor will have the opportunity to have influence on the performance, profitability, and positioning for the future. This position reports to the Operations Manager of BCW Traffic Management Ltd.
Responsibilities:
BCW provides services to the construction industry. Our clients are construction companies, municipalities, and other organizations. The site supervisor responsibilities include but not limited to the followings:

- Provide workers with training before they undertake new tasks.
- Verify workers' performance meets safety expectations.
- Record Supervisor Daily Report and / or logbook.
- Ensure all documentation is clear, appropriate, and frequent, showing a systematic approach to safety.
- Complies with standards and procedures of industry, safety manual, and abide by safety rules.
- Enforce site safety rules to minimize work-related accidents and injuries.
- Identify mentors are identified and provide training within 3 months of an employee being hired.
- Conduct on-site inspections. Ensure workers are involved in the inspection process.
- Ensure trucks maintained according to manufacturers specification, mileage tracked to reduce fuel spend.
- Ensure equipment is tracked on a bi-weekly basis. Hold LCTs accountable for any missing equipment.
- Recruit and train new workers
- Complete BCW leadership mentor program and external leadership training.
- Liaise with clients and ensure a healthy open working relationship is developed and maintained.
- Work with management to ensure safety, operational and financial targets are exceeded.
- Complete disciplinary forms for employees who violate BCW policies.
- Supervise and instruct the team as well as subcontractors.
- Analyze TMP to ensure successfully project execution.
- Recommend changes to construction operations or procedures to increase efficiency.
- Monitor site changes and effectively communicate it to the office and client in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a managerial capacity overseeing team of 20 or more
- minimum 3 years of experience in construction industry, traffic control knowledge is preferred
- Knowledge of project management and contract administration is an asset
- Exceptional communication and time management skills
- Proficiency in MS office is required
- Familiarity with construction and traffic management drawings
- Strong written and spoken English
- Must have ability to multi-task and use sound judgment to prioritize activities
- Must have exceptional communication skills, both verbal & written
- Must possess strong leadership abilities and a demonstrated record of gaining trust and respect of staff
- Must have strong organizational and time management skills
- Must be a self-starter and able to excel with limited supervision
- Must possess communication skills, self-supervision, and respect for safety needs.
- Must have valid class 5 drivers’ license.
- Must be able to pass security clearances.
- Must pass Drug & Alcohol Test.
- Completion of a post-secondary education construction training program (minimum).
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, construction science, or related field (preferred).
- Proven experience working as a site supervisor.
- CPR and first aid certifications (preferred).
- Working knowledge of construction tools and equipment.
